Softeners

In civil and industrial use, the excessive amount of limestone in the water causes some unpleasant and costly inconveniences. The softening process takes place thanks to an exchange between sodium ions, fixed on particular resins, and calcium and magnesium ions contained in the water. This continuous exchange transforms normal water into softened water. The main advantages of softeners for industry are: simple and safe construction and operation, simple and immediate installation, aspirated brine regeneration. The main applications of softeners are:

Reverse osmosis purifiers

Reverse osmosis is a process that allows you to obtain pure demineralised water from water that is very rich in salts. It is possible to obtain a "desalination" of raw water for both drinking and industrial uses, using automatic systems that use semi-permeable membranes of different types and materials. The advantages of reverse osmosis are considerable: applicability to water with any saline content (groundwater, sea, etc.), relatively low operating costs, as it is a process that does not require periodic regeneration as for resin systems. Wastewater treatment

In industries, proper water purification allows you to protect the health of the environment and humans. Industrial production activities in general frequently involve the use of more or less high quantities of water, for washing their processing machines or in actual production. Therefore, in industrial wastewater there are high concentrations of multiple contaminants, mineral oils, phosphorus, metals, dyes, etc. Therefore, industrial waters must be purified until they meet the legal requirements. The resulting wastewater, in view of the anti-pollution regulations governing waste water (ref. Legislative Decree No. 152 of 04/03/2006), in most cases cannot be conveyed directly into the receiving body of water for which they are intended , but require targeted purification treatments. Compliance with the provisions of the Law on the protection of waste water is important and we at Casciana Acque can help you in the construction and installation of targeted purification plants, because with the current systems it is possible to reuse the purified water in almost all cases, bringing considerable advantages in terms of energy and water consumption for other corporate utilities. Legionella

Legionella is a common bacterium that is naturally found in streams, lakes and ponds, and also proliferates inside artificial structures, from water systems to swimming pools, from fountains to air conditioning systems and can reach such a concentration to pose risks to human health. Legionellosis can present itself in two different forms: Pontiac fever, milder, which manifests itself in a similar way to a common flu; and Legionnaires' disease, the most dangerous, which involves high fever and pneumonia and, if not properly treated, can have serious consequences. As a bacterial infection, legionellosis is treated with a normal therapy based on antibiotics, but the best and safest weapon is PREVENTION! The Legion line is the professional and safe solution for the PREVENTION of legionella in domestic hot water circuits; includes different dosing and measuring configurations, designed for constant and complete disinfection of DHW (max. 70°C at 3 bar or 55° at 6 bar), without wasting sample water. The variety of available combinations allows you to manage the dosage of a biocidal product (CHHLORINE DIOXIDE, SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE, HYDROGEN PEROXIDE) proportionally to the flow rate, even with an integrated measuring system. The biocide (oxidant) is always combined with the dosage of a protective product of the hydraulic circuit. The biocide dosing pumps are equipped with a self-venting head and a “full PTFE” diaphragm, for maximum performance with oxidizing products that can develop gases. The dosage of the biocide can be proportional to the flow rate and monitored, and possibly limited, by a specific measuring instrument, or it can only be proportional to the measure. The measurement system uses an amperometric sensor, capable of working at high temperatures and under pressure, and also allows you to check operating anomalies, such as for example dirt or failure of the measurement sensor, breakage or leaks on the biocide product dosing line .

UV sterilization

UV disinfection, or ultraviolet disinfection, is an alternative method to disinfection with chemicals to remove bacteria present in the water. It is an ecological, safe and economical disinfection technique. In Casciana Acque we use a highly efficient UV disinfection system. It is a system that treats water in order to remove bacteria and microorganisms from it. The system uses ultraviolet radiation at a specific wavelength, which causes the death of bacteria, viruses, algae and fungi. Using a UV disinfection system is a safe and effective way to maintain superior water quality. UV disinfection adds no chemicals to the treated water and there is no risk of creating toxic by-products. Furthermore, it does not generate any kind of odour, taste or color in the treated water.
